PLANET BELLYDANCE

A Women's Expo geared specifically to bellydancers.  There'll be all day demonstrations, a wide selection of vendors, and an assortment of classes totally different from our Convention classes.   

Different in that we're presenting classes & activities not found at any other bellydance event, even our own Convention. 

Similar to convention in that it'll be a blast... with food (an Arabic buffet on Friday, a Greek plated dinner on Saturday), alcohol (A MUST!!), and parties at our own nightclub CLUB PLANET with a dinner show and LIVE band!!!!!.  Performance opportunities are available for any and all styles of dance.  Everyone is welcome to perform!!!! 

A fabulous opportunity to have fun, learn and do something new, network with other bellydancers, and enjoy another weekend partying with the girls. 

We had so many dancers tell us that they loved Great Lakes Bellydance Convention so much they wished it happened twice a year. 
That was a tall order!!!

We're unique so it had to be extra special.

We wouldn't think of doing anything like anyone else! 

Well it took us 6 years to come up with the perfect idea.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS

BellySwap - Friday from 5 - 9 p.m.

Clean out your closets!!!  Rent a table and sell those bellydance items even your gently used non-dance clothes that you no longer want. 

Have 3 or less items?  Not a problem!!  You can sell up to 3 items (includes 3 complete costumes) for FREE. 

VENDING SPACE - Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. and/or Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Open to anyone who is a vendor of NEW items, personal consultants and those who want to promote their business, etc.  Any & all bellydance items, clothing or jewelry, private party consultants, massage therapists, psychics, crafters, make-up artists, hair stylists,+ more.

DEMONSTRATORS - Friday from 6 - 9 p.m. & Saturday from 10 a.m. - Noon, 2 - 4 p.m.

On our stage, demonstrations will be conducted every 15 minutes on a variety of subjects.  Looking for demonstrators to showcase their knowledge and skill in any and all areas i.e. a specific dance technique, make-up tip, hair style, costume idea, speak on a dance topic, personal or enrichment topics, promote your business or troupe, basically 15 minutes on stage will be yours to educate other dancers about you and your subject matter. (No performances will be conducted during demonstrations).

 LET US KNOW WHAT DAY YOU'RE INTERESTED IN AND A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO DEMONSTRATE OR PROMOTE.

CLASSES - Friday from 6 - 9 p.m. & Saturday from 10 a.m. - Noon, 2 - 4 p.m.

How would you like to attend Planet Bellydance for FREE?!!!  THEN YOU NEED TO BE AN INSTRUCTOR? Would you like to promote yourself or your business?  Can you offer a fun class that women would enjoy?  We're looking for crafter's, hobbyists, and instructor's that would like to teach.  We'll avoid belly dance classes, since we do these anyway, but will consider interesting and out of the ordinary movement/dance classes.  Any others?  Some dance style that you've created?.  Classes could be anything else such as personal massage techniques, relaxation & meditation classes, gardening, scrapbooking, crafts and other classes that sound fun.  What about Glam classes?  Like Make-up, hair, costuming, etc.  Draw on your professional lives.  Are you in a type of business where you can present interesting and useful information? Are you a lawyer?  How about a class on estate planning?  A massage therapist?  Tips & Tricks to Self Healing? No?  Then rent some space and give 1 minute massages.  Into aromatherapy?  Make some potpourri?  Mix some oils?  Make bath beads? Are you an avid gardener?  What about planting that shade garden?  Make a terrarium?  Or grow salad in a pot?  It'll be spring, and all the plantings will be available.  LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!!  Come on ladies!!!  We're smart!!  We're crafty!!  SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!!!  :+)  All ideas will be considered.  All classes do not necessarily need to be bellydance specific, these sure aren't but they sound kinda fun.  No cooking classes that need equipment like ovens, microwaves, or stoves.  We don't have access to a kitchen but we can still do food related classes.  No-Bake Cookies, anyone????  If interested in teaching any that were mentioned, feel free to step-up.  Classes that we find really unique and that we feel women in general would enjoy will be selected.

PERFORMANCES - Friday Show 11 p.m.  Saturday Dinner Show 8 p.m.

Calling all dancers!!!  Performance opportunities are available for both shows.  Showcase your personal or group style.  This is open to everyone.  Our minimum requirement is that all performers need to purchase an admission ticket on the day they're performing. Space is limited to a 2 hour show roster.  All performances to be 5 minutes or less.

Lunar Luncheon Fashion Show

Saturday Noon - 2

Showcasing a variety of bellydance styles & workout wear. 

Have you made or bought a unique or specialty costume (anything goes, any style) and would like to be in the fashion show, or are a vendor that would like to provide costumes and/or outfits then email us at bellydanceconvention@charter.net.  Submit a detailed description of your outfit, also send some personal info. to be included while you're strutting your stuff. 

Note - you must provide your own model. Models must have purchased, at minimum, the admission to enter the venue.
